LocalWays is a local discovery media platform that enables residents in Japan, expats, and tourists to find dining establishments using natural language in their own words.
For visitors from abroad, finding genuinely great restaurants in Japan is challenging. Real information about local gems often doesn't reach them, leading many to rely on social media influencers. LocalWays was created to solve this problem.
Our platform supports multilingual search including English, Arabic, and many other languages. Unlike traditional search engines, LocalWays understands complex, specific requests. For example:

About the Founder
Victor Parlindungan
Engineering leader with over 18 years of experience in Japan's technology industry. Spent 14 years at Deutsche Bank Japan as Vice President, managing technology teams across Tokyo and the APAC region. At Salesforce, Victor led a global engineering team with members across the US, APAC, and Europe. Drawing on extensive experience in large-scale system development and his perspective as a foreigner living in Japan, Victor is committed to building a truly user-friendly local information platform.
